- About This Beeswax Candle
Our tea light beeswax candles may be small in size, but like all our beeswax candles, they still give off a bright cheery light and delicate honey scent. Each hypo-allergenic beeswax candle is hand crafted using a lead-free 100% cotton wick and lightly filtered 100% pure beeswax from the USA.
Our clear cup tea light beeswax candles make perfect additions to many of the small places around your home: bathrooms and kitchen to name a few. After the tea light is fully used, the clear cups are recyclable.
Our beeswax candles are naturally honey scented. Scent varies slightly based on honey, pollen, and propolis present in the beeswax.
A candle's scent throw varies based on personal sensitivities and environment.
Burn time is a close approximation and will vary somewhat based on your environment and burning preferences.
Our burn times are conservative averages, not a guarantee. Results will vary. Proper wick maintenance helps.
We hand pour all of our beeswax tea light candles and the height listed may vary just a little with each candle.
We make outstanding candles, but we are humans, not machines. Learn more about why the candle size varies.
Note - Always use a tea light holder when burning tea light beeswax candles. The cup that holds the beeswax becomes hot and could damage your tabletop surface.
- Why You'll Love Our Beeswax Candles
100% Pure Beeswax
We use only clean, lightly filtered, 100% pure beeswax from beeswax cappings in our beeswax candles, with no fillers or additives. It's non-toxic properties make it perfect for a clean burning and bright fuel source as a beeswax candle.
Unlike most manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypo-allergenic, great for people with allergies or other sensitivities, and those of us who want a clean burning candle in our homes.
100% Cotton Wick
Bee Hive Candles' philosophy is creating beeswax candles that are all natural and clean burning. We use lead-free 100% cotton wick in every beeswax candle we make. Be wary as some imported paraffin candles may still contain lead wicks.
All of our beeswax candles use a properly sized cotton wick to provide a bright flame and optimum wax pool to prevent tunneling.
Smoke & Soot Free
Using beeswax candles is an excellent way to keep your home free of the smoke and soot that is a common result of burning paraffin candles.
When burned in a draft free environment with the wick trimmed to 1/4" a beeswax candle will burn bright and clean with virtually no smoke or soot.
Incredibly Long Burn Times
Our solid beeswax candles are the most durable and long lasting candles on the market. They burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than any other type of candle. Although beeswax candles appears to cost more, they are usually a better value than paraffin when comparing total burn times.
Try our beeswax candles, the incredibly long burn time will simply amaze you!
Natural Honey Scent & Color
Our beeswax comes direct from beekeepers in the northern US where the honey bees fly among raspberries, canola, clover, and wildflowers. The resulting wax is a beautiful shade of yellow that has an aromatic honey fragrance. We simply reshape the bees' creation; the color and the scent are made by the hardworking bees.
We do not add anything to our beeswax and only filter out the large particles that could interfere with the flame. (We add dye to our "colored" candles, see the Color Info tab above.)
Naturally Drip Resistant
A beeswax candle is less likely to drip than other types of candles because of the complex molecular structure and higher melting point of beeswax. This allows the wick to burn the molten beeswax at just the right pace so it doesn't drip out of the wax pool. These qualities combined with a properly maintained wick, a level burning surface, and draft free environment will help prevent drips from occurring.
Beeswax candles are naturally drip resistant. Paraffin candles require chemical additives, like stearic acid, to make them drip less.
Hand Poured & Hand Finished
We pour each solid beeswax pillar, taper, votive, and tea light candle by hand. It takes an experienced hand to ensure each candle is crafted correctly - we don't want any air bubbles, crooked wicks, or other imperfections. Each candle is inspected to ensure it's quality. We have no "factory second" beeswax candles; if the candle doesn't make the grade, it goes right back into the wax melter.
Some candle makers will ship you their product directly after removing it from the mold where it is often unleveled, uneven, and simply unattractive. We've always taken the time to carefully hand finish each candle so that our beeswax candles are as stunning to look at as they are beautiful to burn.
Beeswax May Have Health Benefits
Negative ions are most commonly found near moving water, such as crashing waves, thunderstorms, and waterfalls. Negative ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy.
While it is still debated and not yet scientifically proven, it is believed that there are other natural negative ion generators too, including our specialty, beeswax candles.

- Safety & Burning Tips
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from children and pets.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials or overly crowded settings.
- Remove paper label from candle before burning.
- Burn candles only in a draft-free environment away from fans, open windows, air ducts, etc. This will help to prevent dripping or smoking.
- Light the wick from the base of the wick, where the wick comes out of the candle, to allow the beeswax to absorb into the wick. A lighter works best.
- Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" (with the exception of tapers). Proper trimming ensures that your beeswax candle will burn with a strong, bright, beautiful flame.

My favorite candle to burn when I host dinner parties. They are clean with a mild, pleasant smell.
Posted by Joanne Dahill on 23rd Jan 2017
I was surprised how quickly the candles burned up. Did not reach the expected time length.
>> Hi Joanne, thanks for your feedback! We've always clearly stated burn time is not a guarantee, but rather a conservative estimate based on testing (hundreds of tea lights), and results will vary slightly. Proper wick maintenance is helpful too.
We hear this type of feedback from our clients occasionally, that our candles didn't burn as long as they wanted them to. This is understandable, everyone wants to get the most value for their money. However no one offers the exact times they've recorded, just their feelings that they were burning too quickly. We do respect your thoughts on the matter, but know that we base our burn times on timed calculations not our personal feelings.
We've found that a person's sense of time can vary greatly, depending on many environmental, emotional, and physical factors. Time flies when you are having fun! And just the opposite when you aren't.
While we can't guarantee a person's perceived sense of time will match with actual time, we do guarantee our candles will be the best candles you have ever purchased! If you are unhappy with their performance, just let us know and we'll make it right.

Great in my beeswax lanterns
Posted by Laura on 3rd Feb 2016
I made beeswax lanterns using melted beeswax and carefully dipping balloons filled with water into it. These are great inside of them and your beeswax is the best.

The BEST tealights!
Posted by Amy on 28th Apr 2015
These are the best burning tealights ever! Before finding Bee Hive Candles, I tried another brand of 100% beeswax tealights that was a complete fail (terrible burn, drowning wicks). Your tealights are perfection. I'll be a life-long customer.
