- About This Beeswax Candle
Use an arrangement of multiple votive holders with our beeswax votive candles to create the perfect relaxing or romantic setting. Each hypo-allergenic beeswax candle is hand crafted using a lead-free 100% cotton wick and lightly filtered 100% beeswax from the USA.
As they burn our votive beeswax candles release a natural honey scent and produce a soft soothing candlelight. These compact and long burning beeswax votives are great in an emergency situation, or just a night away from it all. Votives are great for bathrooms and kitchens.
Our beeswax candles are naturally honey scented. Scent varies slightly based on honey, pollen, and propolis present in the beeswax.
A candle's scent throw varies based on personal sensitivities and environment.
Burn time is a close approximation and will vary somewhat based on your environment and burning preferences.
Our burn times are conservative averages, not a guarantee. Results will vary. Proper wick maintenance helps.
We hand pour each of our beeswax votive candles. The dimensions listed are an approximation and will vary slightly for each candle. Please consider each candle a work of art.
We make outstanding candles, but we are humans, not machines. Learn more about why the candle size varies.
Note - Votive candles need to be burned in a properly sized votive holder. A votive candle is unable to contain it's own wax pool when burning. The sides of the votive holder are used to contain the beeswax as it burns. Ensure your votive holder is as close fitting to the votive as possible. Most standard votive holders sold in the US today will work fine (inside diameter roughly 1 7/8" to 2"). If your votive holder is too large (i.e. a total gap larger than 1/2") the votive will not be contained properly as it burns and may result in the votive sides leaking and spilling down to the bottom of the votive holder.
- Why You'll Love Our Beeswax Candles
100% Pure Beeswax
We use only clean, lightly filtered, 100% pure beeswax from beeswax cappings in our beeswax candles, with no fillers or additives. It's non-toxic properties make it perfect for a clean burning and bright fuel source as a beeswax candle.
Unlike most manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypo-allergenic, great for people with allergies or other sensitivities, and those of us who want a clean burning candle in our homes.
100% Cotton Wick
Bee Hive Candles' philosophy is creating beeswax candles that are all natural and clean burning. We use lead-free 100% cotton wick in every beeswax candle we make. Be wary as some imported paraffin candles may still contain lead wicks.
All of our beeswax candles use a properly sized cotton wick to provide a bright flame and optimum wax pool to prevent tunneling.
Smoke & Soot Free
Using beeswax candles is an excellent way to keep your home free of the smoke and soot that is a common result of burning paraffin candles.
When burned in a draft free environment with the wick trimmed to 1/4" a beeswax candle will burn bright and clean with virtually no smoke or soot.
Incredibly Long Burn Times
Our solid beeswax candles are the most durable and long lasting candles on the market. They burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than any other type of candle. Although beeswax candles appears to cost more, they are usually a better value than paraffin when comparing total burn times.
Try our beeswax candles, the incredibly long burn time will simply amaze you!
Natural Honey Scent & Color
Our beeswax comes direct from beekeepers in the northern US where the honey bees fly among raspberries, canola, clover, and wildflowers. The resulting wax is a beautiful shade of yellow that has an aromatic honey fragrance. We simply reshape the bees' creation; the color and the scent are made by the hardworking bees.
We do not add anything to our beeswax and only filter out the large particles that could interfere with the flame. (We add dye to our "colored" candles, see the Color Info tab above.)
Naturally Drip Resistant
A beeswax candle is less likely to drip than other types of candles because of the complex molecular structure and higher melting point of beeswax. This allows the wick to burn the molten beeswax at just the right pace so it doesn't drip out of the wax pool. These qualities combined with a properly maintained wick, a level burning surface, and draft free environment will help prevent drips from occurring.
Beeswax candles are naturally drip resistant. Paraffin candles require chemical additives, like stearic acid, to make them drip less.
Hand Poured & Hand Finished
We pour each solid beeswax pillar, taper, votive, and tea light candle by hand. It takes an experienced hand to ensure each candle is crafted correctly - we don't want any air bubbles, crooked wicks, or other imperfections. Each candle is inspected to ensure it's quality. We have no "factory second" beeswax candles; if the candle doesn't make the grade, it goes right back into the wax melter.
Some candle makers will ship you their product directly after removing it from the mold where it is often unleveled, uneven, and simply unattractive. We've always taken the time to carefully hand finish each candle so that our beeswax candles are as stunning to look at as they are beautiful to burn.
Beeswax May Have Health Benefits
Negative ions are most commonly found near moving water, such as crashing waves, thunderstorms, and waterfalls. Negative ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy.
While it is still debated and not yet scientifically proven, it is believed that there are other natural negative ion generators too, including our specialty, beeswax candles.

- Color Info
Naturally Colored Beeswax
The raw beeswax we use comes from the hive as a light golden yellow color, which we call "Natural" when we refer to the candle's color. The natural color of beeswax is determined by the remaining pollen and propolis in the wax; this color varies a little between each batch.
Our naturally colored beeswax candles do not contain any dyes or additives.
All of our color-added beeswax candles (Holiday Red, Hunter Green, etc.) contain a very small amount of dye to achieve their vibrant colors.
The dyes do not contain hazardous solvents or additives (such as naphtha or naphthalene used in other dyes). The dyes are never tested on animals. No dye ingredients are on the California Prop 65 list of cancer causing ingredients.
The dyes we use for our colored beeswax candles are formulated with eco-friendly ingredients. They offer excellent color consistency and strength for crisp, clean, bright candles. The colored dye makes up a very small percentage of the overall beeswax candle, much less than 1%.
Our brightly colored beeswax pillars give you more choices when burning beeswax and are an easy way to add a splash of excitement to your candle arrangements. Our natural colored beeswax does not contain dye.
Available in a variety of bold colors. 100% pure beeswax, all cotton wick.
Our colorful beeswax candles can be kept polished for a shiny modern look or let their age show by allowing the bloom to appear over time.
The bright color is a great backdrop for showcasing the white antique finish of the bloom.
- Safety & Burning Tips
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from children and pets.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials or overly crowded settings.
- Remove paper label from candle before burning.
- Burn candles only in a draft-free environment away from fans, open windows, air ducts, etc. This will help to prevent dripping or smoking.
- Light the wick from the base of the wick, where the wick comes out of the candle, to allow the beeswax to absorb into the wick. A lighter works best.
- Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" (with the exception of tapers). Proper trimming ensures that your beeswax candle will burn with a strong, bright, beautiful flame.

These are the best votives ever!
Posted by Kelly on 7th May 2017
These are special candles -- they can easily burn for 8 hours at a time. I love the glow and the fact that they do not put toxic elements into the air. I frequently give them as gifts to friends, family and colleagues, along with a votive holder.

So classy and attractive; make the air smell good even when not lit; good price; attractive packaging. Worth it.

I do love this product, the honey scent is not as strong as some others I have bought directly from farmers market. But I will say they last longer than any other beeswax candles I have bought so the quality is great. I like the price too, which is why I will continue to buy from this company. Buying in bulk through this company helps a lot with saving in the long run. Thank you!
many happy years together

I've been buying these votives for years from Beehive Candles, and I've never been disappointed. I use them almost everyday. They make the room smell fresh and clean, without any chemicals, and there is none of the black soot on the ceiling that I used to get from other candles. They burn very evenly and don't drip. These are my favorite candles for many years now.
I burn these votives every evening

I had been very oftenly using this Votive Beewax candle to offer in the temple. Its quality and make ups, everything is excellent. Hope you maintain the quality and its standard stably......

Love the beeswax candles for their air cleaning properties and purity. I wish they burned more evenly. I do have them in a votive candle holder which I spray before inserting the candle.
>> Thanks for your input! This is normal, and why a votive must be burned in a votive holder. Votives are wider on the top and aren't able to hold their own wax pool. During the initial burn they melt down to take the shape of their container.
