- About This Beeswax Candle
Whether you are at home or far away, enjoy the great honey scent every time your remove the cover! Each hypo-allergenic beeswax candle is hand crafted using a lead-free 100% cotton wick and lightly filtered 100% beeswax from the USA. Burns like a 3" pillar.
Lighting the Holidays
These compact but powerful travel tin beeswax candles are a great way to illuminate jack-o-lanterns or luminarias. Like all of our beeswax candles, this travel tin has a clean burning bright flame. Our 6oz tins are suited for larger rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, open areas, etc.
Our beeswax candles are naturally honey scented. Scent varies slightly based on honey, pollen, and propolis present in the beeswax.
A candle's scent throw varies based on personal sensitivities and environment.
Burn time is a close approximation and will vary somewhat based on your environment and burning preferences.
Our burn times are conservative averages, not a guarantee. Results will vary. Proper wick maintenance helps.
We hand pour all of our beeswax travel tin candles and the height of the beeswax inside the travel tin may vary just a little with each candle.
We make outstanding candles, but we are humans, not machines. Learn more about why the candle size varies.
Note - Our 6oz travel tin beeswax candles require a minimum burn of 3 hours per session. Burning for extend time ensures that the wick burns the candle evenly out to the edge. This also helps to avoid tunneling and relighting issues. View all beeswax candle burning tips.
Note - The container may have some remaining unused beeswax after the wick has been fully burned. This is normal.
- Why You'll Love Our Beeswax Candles
100% Pure Beeswax
We use only clean, lightly filtered, 100% pure beeswax from beeswax cappings in our beeswax candles, with no fillers or additives. It's non-toxic properties make it perfect for a clean burning and bright fuel source as a beeswax candle.
Unlike most manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypo-allergenic, great for people with allergies or other sensitivities, and those of us who want a clean burning candle in our homes.
100% Cotton Wick
Bee Hive Candles' philosophy is creating beeswax candles that are all natural and clean burning. We use lead-free 100% cotton wick in every beeswax candle we make. Be wary as some imported paraffin candles may still contain lead wicks.
All of our beeswax candles use a properly sized cotton wick to provide a bright flame and optimum wax pool to prevent tunneling.
Smoke & Soot Free
Using beeswax candles is an excellent way to keep your home free of the smoke and soot that is a common result of burning paraffin candles.
When burned in a draft free environment with the wick trimmed to 1/4" a beeswax candle will burn bright and clean with virtually no smoke or soot.
Incredibly Long Burn Times
Our solid beeswax candles are the most durable and long lasting candles on the market. They burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than any other type of candle. Although beeswax candles appears to cost more, they are usually a better value than paraffin when comparing total burn times.
Try our beeswax candles, the incredibly long burn time will simply amaze you!
Natural Honey Scent & Color
Our beeswax comes direct from beekeepers in the northern US where the honey bees fly among raspberries, canola, clover, and wildflowers. The resulting wax is a beautiful shade of yellow that has an aromatic honey fragrance. We simply reshape the bees' creation; the color and the scent are made by the hardworking bees.
We do not add anything to our beeswax and only filter out the large particles that could interfere with the flame. (We add dye to our "colored" candles, see the Color Info tab above.)
Naturally Drip Resistant
A beeswax candle is less likely to drip than other types of candles because of the complex molecular structure and higher melting point of beeswax. This allows the wick to burn the molten beeswax at just the right pace so it doesn't drip out of the wax pool. These qualities combined with a properly maintained wick, a level burning surface, and draft free environment will help prevent drips from occurring.
Beeswax candles are naturally drip resistant. Paraffin candles require chemical additives, like stearic acid, to make them drip less.
Hand Poured & Hand Finished
We pour each solid beeswax pillar, taper, votive, and tea light candle by hand. It takes an experienced hand to ensure each candle is crafted correctly - we don't want any air bubbles, crooked wicks, or other imperfections. Each candle is inspected to ensure it's quality. We have no "factory second" beeswax candles; if the candle doesn't make the grade, it goes right back into the wax melter.
Some candle makers will ship you their product directly after removing it from the mold where it is often unleveled, uneven, and simply unattractive. We've always taken the time to carefully hand finish each candle so that our beeswax candles are as stunning to look at as they are beautiful to burn.
Beeswax May Have Health Benefits
Negative ions are most commonly found near moving water, such as crashing waves, thunderstorms, and waterfalls. Negative ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy.
While it is still debated and not yet scientifically proven, it is believed that there are other natural negative ion generators too, including our specialty, beeswax candles.

- Safety & Burning Tips
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from children and pets.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials or overly crowded settings.
- Remove paper label from candle before burning.
- Burn candles only in a draft-free environment away from fans, open windows, air ducts, etc. This will help to prevent dripping or smoking.
- Light the wick from the base of the wick, where the wick comes out of the candle, to allow the beeswax to absorb into the wick. A lighter works best.
- Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" (with the exception of tapers). Proper trimming ensures that your beeswax candle will burn with a strong, bright, beautiful flame.
