Discover more about our aromatherapy.
What is Aromatherapy Aromatherapy is the use of therapeutic oils extracted from natural plant matter in order to encourage good health and psychological and physical well-being. Essential oils are distilled from flowers, fruits, leaves, woods, roots and other natural plant matter from all over the world. Essential oils are highly concentrated oils with very fragrant scents and volatile substances, with varying degrees of complexity, fragrance, and volatility.
How Aromatherapy Works There are multiple ways to use essential oils, including baths, ointments, inhalation, vaporization, massage and our favorite way, beeswax candles. Essential oils are able to enter the body in two basic ways, direct contact or by inhalation. Direct contact with an essential oil via massage or bathing allows the oil to be absorbed through the skin and enter the circulatory system. Inhaling of essential oils through mediums such as aromatherapy beeswax candles let the scents flow through into the nervous system.
We find natural beeswax candles mixed with natural essential oils to be a wonderful way to experience both the relaxation and calm that are experienced with burning a beeswax candle along with the natural well being that comes from the essential oils in the candle.
Essential Oils vs Fragrant Oils Not all oils are created equally. It's important to recognize that essential oils are extracted from natural plant matter, where as fragrant oils and perfume oils are created artificially. Our aromatherapy products contain only 100% natural essential oils. Once you have been introduced to pure essential oils nothing else will do.
True Essential Oil There is large variation of quality in essential oils and the methods used to gather and extract them. The most pure essential oils are created from the process of steam distillation or cold pressing, which ensures no substances other than the pure essential oil are contained within the oil itself. There are other methods of extraction, such as carbon dioxide extraction and solvent extraction to name a few. These other methods produce oil of an inferior quality and often end up leaving part of the extraction process in the resulting oil (i.e. the solvents themselves).
Thankfully steam distillation is the most common method of production. Steam distillation is the process of heating the plant matter in which tiny molecules evaporate which result in the making of the essential oil. Cold pressing is the method of extraction used for citrus fruits; the oil is extracted by applying pressure and squeezing the oil from the fruit.
All of our essential oils are 100% pure essential oils gathered only via steam distillation and cold press methods. No carrier oils are used or mixed with the essential oils. We purchase our essential oils only from well established manufactures that guarantee their essential oil quality and purity, and well as current members of the NAHA (The National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy). All essential oils we purchase are listed with country of origin, form of extraction, and botanical name.

Why you'll love our aromatherapy beeswax candles.
100% Natural Beeswax Beeswax is a renewable all natural product with no additives or fillers. It's non-toxic properties make it perfect for a clean burning and bright fuel source as a beeswax candle. Unlike most of the manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypo-allergenic, great for people with allergies or other sensitivities and those of us who want a safe, clean burning candle in our homes.
All Natural Wick Bee Hive Candles' philosophy is creating beeswax candles that are all natural and safe to burn. We use lead-free cotton and other natural wick in every beeswax candle we make. Be wary as some imported paraffin candles still contain lead wicks. Our lead-free wicks have been selected for each beeswax candle to provide a bright flame and optimum wax pool to prevent tunneling.
Incredibly Long Burn Times Bee Hive Candles' solid beeswax candles are the most durable and long lasting candles you can own. They burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than any other type of candle. Compared by burn time, beeswax candles are usually a better value than paraffin, even when beeswax appears to cost more. Try our beeswax candles, the incredibly long burn time will simply amaze you!
Hand Poured & Hand Finished We pour each and every solid beeswax pillar, taper, votive, and tea light by hand. It takes a practiced hand to ensure each candle is poured correctly - we don't want any air bubbles, loose wicks, cosmetic streaks or imperfections. Once the beeswax candle has cooled and been removed from the mold, we inspect each candle to ensure it's quality. We have no "factory second" beeswax candles; if the candle doesn't make the quality inspection, it goes right back into the wax melter.
Some candle makers will ship you their product directly after removing it from the mold where it is often unleveled, uneven, and simply unattractive. We've always taken the time to carefully hand finish each candle so that our beeswax candles are as stunning to look at as they are beautiful to burn.
Smoke & Soot Free No one wants their home to be covered in candle soot, which is a common result of burning paraffin candles. An excellent way to prevent this from occurring while still enjoying the beauty of a candle is to use beeswax candles. When burned in a draft free environment with a wick trimmed to 1/4" a beeswax candle will burn bright and clean without smoke or soot.
Naturally Dripless While there are not any candles that should be allowed to burn unattended, beeswax candles burn safer than others with minimal maintenance. Beeswax candles are naturally drip free and do not require chemicals to make them dripless like paraffin candles. The molecular structure and higher melting point of beeswax makes beeswax candles much better at holding their wax pool. This fact combined with a properly maintained wick and draft free environment will prevent drips from occurring.

We purchase our essential oils only from well established manufactures that guarantee their essential oil quality and purity. Our aromatherapy products contain only 100% essential oils. Beeswax May Have Health Benefits Negative ions, which can make you feel better, are most commonly found near moving water, such as crashing waves, thunderstorms, and waterfalls. The moving water causes the surrounding air to move and that along with sunlight and radiation breaks apart molecules of air. The broken pieces end up with extra electrons making them negative ions.
While it is still debated and not yet scientifically proven, it is believed that there are other natural negative ion generators too, including our specialty, beeswax candles.
